TREES
What to Do With Trees
Tree trunks, tree trimmings and stumps up to 12 inches in diameter are accepted at the York County Resource Recovery Center (RRC) and are ultimately managed at the Authority’s Yard Waste Transfer Facility where the wood is chipped into mulch and moved off site to a commercial end user.

Modern Landfill in Windsor and Lower Windsor Townships and H&H in Spring Grove accept stumps larger than 12 inches in diameter.

  • H&H: 717-225-4669
Reason not processed at RRC
Long wood pieces may damage facility equipment. Thick wood may not burn completely. Wood can be recycled into beneficial mulch.

Waste is accepted from residents Monday through Friday from 8:00AM until 4:00PM and on Saturday from 8:00AM until noon. Payment may be made in cash or by check.
